Jelle Martens

Love colour referencing from photographs. By Jelle Martens*

Found via ffffound and the Jealous Curator

*edit- found out who the artist was thanks to pinterest :)

Cinegraphs

These are awweesahhme! They're known as cinegraphs, which is a little more fancier than your average animated gif. The future of photography perhaps? Also has a sense of Harry Potter's magical moving photos.
But do not fret senor gifs, you'll always have a place in my heart.

Another Wedding post...

By Tigerlilly Quinn

http://thesometimeszoo.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/celebration-fireflies/
While we are still hyped up about weddings (Will and Kate's fault) I'm gonna have to keep bragging about my dream wedding. Dresses, reception, catering and all the hoopla aside, my attention would rather be on the INVITATIONS! It's a given for any designer to design their own wedding invitation. Heahh-vehhn. The endless ideas, the fact that you don't want it to look like any one else's, the materials, papers, sizes, shapes to the choice of colour - expectations reign high for us designers. But, I did have some thought to it and I'd really opt for a fun, as stated in the previous post, and a cartoony, illustrated, crafty design. Love a hand-crafted invitation. Feels authentic and original. I'm already getting excited thinking about how I'd illustrate it. I might even move away from the printed paper and create a CD. Oh the fun of it all. Anyway, I absolutely fell in love with the above designs. The heart and soul that was put into these is apparent, almost brings a tear to my eye. Yep I think it's more me and hopefully [insert possible future husband's name here] would like it too.

Weddings Galore

Picture+57.png (500×374)

Three weddings and 2 bridesmaids dresses. It's definitely the weddingest year for me. Not to mention the most anticipated and probably the biggest hitch of the year (and overly-hyped) - Prince Will and Kate. I have caught the wedding bug, it's got me inevitably trawling through wedding photos and sighing at the thought of my own...The purdy wedding photos above are an idea of what my big day would look like...one day... I think I'd like more of a casual, fun and whimsical kinda wedding but more focus on the detail of the surroundings, ruling out the formalities of it all. Ha! I hear Bridezilla a-brewing but hey I'm a single girl, I can dream.

Scott Campbell

Scott Campbell

There's something about traditionally drawn cartoons/comics that I find most endearing and refreshing as oppose to the many computerized, photoshopped, digitally enhanced eye-sores and lack-of-substance that is 3D (with the exception of the likes of Pixar of course, they can get away with it). Scott Campbell's comic illustrations are not an eye-sore and has me thinking twice about using the computer as a medium. Love his character designs and his use of subdued colour. Found in Illustration Mundo.

Axe Cop

Axe Cop

Haha! Hilarious comic written by a very imaginative 5 year old and awesomely illustrated by his older brother, who it seems is spot on in capturing his imagination. Axe Cop. Read it. Also reminds of this. Ah kids say the darndest things.
