Roaring Twenties
More practice sketches. The style is inspired by John K (Ren & Stimpy) I love his character art, the facial expressions are priceless.

Sabine Appleby
Just practising on designing covers for children's books. Could be an actual story. Not really. Plus it was a completely random image. But if you can come up with a good story I'd be very much interested to hear about it.

Added the new 'Pattern' category where I'll be posting patterns every now and then. Here's a pattern I did a while back using a kaleidoscope effect in Illustrator.

ASAD Sketch #76 - Guess who's coming to be dinner
Sketch 75 Day 75 -Unfortunately our dog Benji doesn't treat them as guests. RIP Blue tongue lizard, you may seem like a cute docile reptile (are they like the only harmless reptile?! Reptiles descend from dinosaurs right?) and good for garden maintenance, but you also give me the heebie jeebies.

ASAD Sketch #75 - Hansel & Gretel
Sketch 75 Day 75 - It's no surprise that I got hooked on the new tv series 'Once upon a time'. It's a show about fairytales! I thought it would be your average unconvincing fantasy series, but I think there's something different and heartening, made-my-day kinda way about it and because I like all things fairytale *guffaws*. Although it features fairytale stories we all know, the narrative blends both reality and fantasy with twists that leave me hanging for the next episode.
Illustration inspired by Arthur Rackham's fairytale art.

ASAD Sketch #73 - Lisbeth
Sketch 73 Day 73 - Recently checked out the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Original) film to see what all the fuss was about. I haven't read the books as yet but yes it is indeed a clever story, great film too. I do like me a bit of crime solving suspense thrillers. I was captivated by the hero character Lisbeth. She is one ballsy chick with the smarts to boot. As much as I want to absorb her kick-ass attitude, there is a reason for her rebellious looks and behaviour. I feel for the poor Lisbeth, but I look forward to learning her history when I catch the next instalments.

Sketch 71 Day 71 - When it's this hot, who can be bothered? Maybe those fitness junkies. Kudos to them but I ain't got the stamina for it *sips ice cold drink*
